The first four months of a puppy's life is a crucial window for them to experience and learn as much as possible. We run an extensive program to develop their brains with gradual and positive exposure to various sights, sounds, surfaces, adults and children to build confidence and avoid future anxiety.
Our extensive program includes the following:
Exposure to household noises - TV, washing machine, vacuum, etc.
Handling of paws, mouth, ears, bathing, and grooming
Interactions with calm, vaccinated dogs and other animals (we have goats on site)
Machinery on our smallholding including the tractor, mower, and strimmer
Trips in the car and "walkabouts" in their buggy around public areas
Crate training and periods of separation
This program has been designed to ensure your puppy has the right foundations to live a long and confident life as your perfect companion.
The First 8 Weeks
Here's our structured approach to creating the perfect companion before they join their forever home.
01
Birth to Two Weeks: The Neonatal Stage
Puppies are born with eyes and ears closed, relying entirely on mum. We monitor weight gain daily and provide round-the-clock care, ensuring each puppy thrives during these crucial first days.
02
Three to Four Weeks: Opening Up to the World
Eyes and ears open, revealing the world around them. Puppies begin to wobble about, and we introduce gentle handling and early neurological stimulation to build confidence and resilience.
03
Five to Seven Weeks: Socialisation Begins
The critical socialisation window opens. We introduce various sounds, textures, people, and experiences. Puppies learn important lessons from their littermates through play, developing bite inhibition and social skills.
04
Eight Weeks and Beyond: Ready for Home
Fully weaned, vaccinated, and microchipped, puppies are prepared for their forever families. We provide comprehensive support packages and maintain lifelong contact with every puppy family.
Our Breeding Philosophy: Commitment to Health & Happiness
Our breeding programme is built upon three fundamental pillars: exceptional health, sound temperament, and preservation of the Cavalier's gentle, affectionate nature.
We believe that responsible breeding requires dedication, knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of every dog in our care.
Each breeding decision is made thoughtfully, considering genetic diversity, health clearances, and temperament compatibility.
We never compromise on quality, and we breed only when we can improve upon the excellent foundation we've established.
